Well Excuse Me

So, you say you’re a BIG Dreamer? Good for you! Now here’s the reality check.

  • Big Dream = Big Price; Little (or no) Dream = Little Price.

What’s it going to be? For every prize there is a price that must be paid. However, the prize is always greater than the price. The difference between those that get what they want and those that don’t are called ‘excuses’.

Ex·cuse (noun)

  • Justification; a reason or explanation, not necessarily true, given in order to make something appear more acceptable or less offensive

  • False reason; a false reason that enables somebody to do something he or she wants to do or avoid something he or she does not want to do

  • Bad example; an inept performer of a particular action or task

Funny thing about this world in which we live, is that those that get what they want out of life typically have the same circumstances as those who don’t. Those who succeed look for reasons “why” verses those who fail have excuses as to “why not”. Let’s see what some of the most successful people in the history of mankind have to say about “excuses”.

  • “He that is good for making excuses is seldom good for anything else.” – Benjamin Franklin

  • “I attribute my success to this - I never gave or took any excuse.” – Florence Nightingale

  • “People are always blaming their circumstances for what they are. I don't believe in circumstances. The people who get on in this world are the people who get up and look for the circumstances they want, and, if they can't find them, make them.” – George Bernard Shaw

  • “Ninety-nine percent of failures come from people who have the habit of making excuses.” – George Washington Carver

  • “For many people, an excuse is better than an achievement because an achievement, no matter how great, leaves you having to prove yourself again in the future but an excuse can last for life.” – Eric Hoffer

  • “Results…Rather than reasons” – Van Carrigan

Well excuse me, but I’d rather have the results. How about you?

Believe…
