Whatchoo Want Is Whatchoo Get!

Whatchoo want is what you get! This straightforward yet profound fact is so real that it confounds the brain of most who are unfortunately blinded by its simplicity. Its use by the greatest minds to ever grace this earth is the essence of everything that has ever been created and or achieved in the history of mankind. This law of attraction has been shared in every conceivable form of communication to the masses for centuries, yet only a few ever truly understand and utilize it. Whatever you focus your thoughts on is exactly what you get…period.

An enlightening reality is the fact that success always leaves clues. Many may have heard of or read about a mentor to millions by the name of Jim Rohn. Jim is acknowledged as a key influencer to modern day luminaries such as Tony Robbins, Mark Victor Hansen, Jack Canfield, Brian Tracy, T. Harv Eker, Chris Widener, and Darren Hardy. Though eventually becoming an iconic legend, his story is not unlike most people who achieve stratospheric success. Before the world knew his name, he was just like most of us struggling to survive let alone thrive.

Living a life of quite desperation at the ripe old age of 25 with a family to support yet being broke, busted and disgusted; he decided enough was enough when he couldn’t afford $2.00 to buy Girl Scout cookies and lied to the young girl selling them. It was at this time that a friend of his recommended a seminar titled, “Laws of Success” presented by a man named John Earl Shoaff also known as “The Millionaire Maker.” Jim went to the seminar and his life would never be the same again. Only six short years later using the teachings of Earl Shoaff, Jim became a millionaire himself.

Recently I was listening to a rare recording that flat out blew me away. It was the last recorded seminar of Earl Shoaff himself prior to his death in 1965 and the same one that changed Jim Rohns life forever. Guess what he shared over 70 years ago…"thoughts are things and whatever it is you think about is exactly what you get". Timeless wisdom that has been known throughout the ages.

If this is true, then why do so many people struggle to achieve what they want out of life and live lives of frustration, despair, confusion, and apathy? Because we are getting exactly what we want by focusing on our negative thoughts which then create the world around us. We never learn that we are the cause in our experience of life. Those that focus on all that's wrong vs. what there is to be grateful for, never really get that they can be the victors and not the victim. They remain stuck thinking their world’s people, places and situations and events are doing it ‘to them’ and they have absolutely no responsibility in the matter.

If like the 25 year old Jim Rohn, you've reached a point of being sick and tired of your circumstances yet want to live a life of power and prosperity, understand this; for better and for worse, you are the source upon which your life will be lived. The world’s greatest achievers are not better than you. The primary difference is that they've learned to control their thoughts towards that which they've wanted and then with that belief, took action to manifest it in their lives.

The conundrum for most of us is that it is much easier to focus on the negative than the positive and we oftentimes do not understand that this very thought process is showing up as the crap we wrongly believe we don’t want. What’s sad is our negative focus is in reality miniscule compared to all that is positive to appreciate in other people and the world in which we live. It can become such an ingrained habit that the beauty of the simple joys and pleasures of living soon become not only taken for granted but dismissed altogether.

To be able to breathe, see, hear, taste, hug, laugh, giggle, smile, have the wind tickle your hair, the sun warm your skin and light up your spirit, a child’s presence melt your heart and another human beings love make you feel valued and important…these are available almost everyday and for free. Yet we lament about the rain that feeds the earth, the sun that’s too hot to enjoy, the snow that is too cold and deep, the child that cries and disrupts ‘our’ life, the people that frustrate us, the circumstances that ruined our day, and the list goes on infinitely. Not surprisingly, this negative focus has us believe our lives our miserable while blinding us to all that is breathtaking and also right in front of us.

If you don’t like the life that you’re living and feel that there is so much more you would’ve, could’ve and should’ve done, the exciting news is that you can change that today! Decide today whatchoo REALLY want, put your attention there and that’s exactly whatchoo gonna get!
